Thank you for your prayers and support through the ministry of Disaster Relief. I never cease to be amazed at the generosity and compassion you have shown to those in need. For the past 10 weeks, Columbus Avenue has joined in the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts providing immediate disaster response assistance to many families in various places such as Houston, Katy, Vidor, Port Neches, Beaumont, Hampshire, and Port Arthur, Texas. It has been an honor to serve alongside Christian organizations such as the Texas Baptist Men and the Cajun Army and sister churches such as Tallowood Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Port Neches.
Thanks to your help, many of those in need are now moving from the process of cleanup to rebuild. Since rebuilding projects can last from several months to several years, we ask that you would begin to pray with us as we seek a church to partner with. Many of our sister churches have still not returned to their facilities due to the damages sustained from the hurricane. Pray that this partnership would strengthen our brothers and sisters in Christ, provide opportunities for our church family to build relationships and continue to show Christ’s love to those still in need.
I have already met and will continue to meet with area pastors to pray with and discern God’s leading as we move forward. Please pray and check back for news on how we as a church family will move forward.
In His service,

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers."
- Galatians 6:9-10
