Saturday, April 3rd - 9am-5pm

Easter is undoubtedly one of the most important opportunities to bring the message of Jesus’ love and sacrifice to our community. But how do we share this message and Love Waco in the middle of a pandemic?
By now, we’re all familiar with the challenges COVID-19 presents to our church’s big events. In fact, this is already our second Easter that will look different due to the pandemic. But, if we’ve learned anything over the past year, it’s that (1) God’s reach isn’t limited to just inside of our buildings and that (2) flexibility is key to making memorable celebrations and Easter is definitely a momentous occasion to celebrate.
So, instead of giving in to feelings of anxiety and canceling events, we are calling our church family to Love Waco by sharing Christ in two meaningful ways. On Saturday, April 3rd from 9:00AM-5:00PM Columbus Avenuers will have the choice to serve in one of the following ways:

Prayer Walk

We will be separating into teams with Easter door hangers to get the word out about Easter at Columbus and take the opportunity to pray for local neighborhoods.

Yard Work and Clean up

For those who are homebound, lack the necessary equipment or were affected by the recent Snovid, the growing grass and broken limbs can become a source of frustration and even despair. By providing free lawn care and clean up, we can help ease their burden and show the love of Christ.

We will meet in the parking lot of the church at 8:30AM to pray, distribute site information and responsibilities and maps for prayerwalking. If you can lend any piece of lawn-care equipment, please contact David Villarreal.
