Josue Calero - Dénia, Spain

Meet the Calero Luna family: Josué Calero and Ana Luna and their children, Noa (10), Zoe (5), and Jairo (1 year). They've been serving in Dénia, Spain, for the past five years with our sister church Iglesia Evangélica Bautista La Trinitat, also known as Trinity Baptist Church.
Josué leads the church planting ministry which has planted 5 churches in the past 5 years, as well as the Immediate Needs ministry called Extiende Tu Mano, which functions as the only soup kitchen in the whole province. Ana serves as an administrator at the Alfa & Omega School connected with church.



Justin Smith - Lubbock, Texas

Meet the Smith family: Justin and Rebecca Smith and their children, Shepherd (2) and Jude (4 months). For the next two years, Justin has entered into the Redeemer Residency Program at Redeemer Church in Lubbock, Texas.
RRP is a church-based leadership development program designed to train and equip the head, heart, and hands of the saints. As a Redeemer Resident, Justin is fully support-raised. In shared vision, CABC has decided to send and support the Smith family during this two-year church planting training with prospects of supporting a church plant.

2021 Summer Missionaries

Abby Gammon

Abby will be serving in North Africa with Go Now Missions and will be making relationships with the local people, specifically college students. She has the particular advantage of speaking Arabic has studied the culture for three years, which allows her to have opportunities to share the gospel in ways that others might not be able to. While she will be in a majority Muslim population, the people are open to learning about American culture from Americans, and her presence will aid the long-term missionaries to also maintain relationships and spread the good news about Jesus.


Trinity Long

Trinity will serve at the Hospitality House in Huntsville, TX through Go Now Missions and the Texas Baptist General Convention. The Hospitality House is the only standing overnight inmate family facility house that is open seven days a week. During her time in Huntsville, she will be serving the families of inmates at the prison in town. She will be helping serve food to families, coordinate volunteers for projects, and play with kids. 



Megan Roos

Megan will serve as the Missions Intern in Del Rio, Texas with our partner church City Church Del Rio. She will serve in many ways from providing warm meals to families at the Val Verde Border Humanitarian Coalition (VVBHC) to serving at an orphanage across the border. She will also help City Church serve the border agents working at the detention center. Del Rio is the second largest entry point for immigration in the United States. The VVBHC receives about 150 family units per day.


Elizabeth Kirsch

Elizabeth will serve in Greece to work with refugees in Athens. She will partner with the Baylor BSM and an organization in central Athens that specializes in community engagement, specifically with refugee families. The area they will be engaging was noted as the most densely populated region in Europe. They have a community youth center called Streetlight, in which long term youth workers pour into kids and teens who have been relocated to the city. She will serve with other youth workers using sports and art to connect with new families. She will also prayer walk and map the area for potential new engagement spots.
