Sunday Prayer Guide

“Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name. For Yahweh is good, and His love is eternal; His faithfulness endures through all generations.”  Psalm 100:4-5 HCSB

Josh Vaughan, Senior Pastor

  • Please pray this verse for Pastor Josh :I will sing about the LORD’s faithful love forever; I will proclaim Your faithfulness to all generations with my mouth." Psalm 89:1 HCSB
  •  “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” – 2 Corinthians 5:20 “I’ll be a Columbus Missionary!” That’s the commitment that I’m asking each member of Columbus Avenue to consider making for the rest of this school year (through May 2019). As we transition Sunday, November 4, to a new worship schedule, we have an opportunity to refocus on what God has called us to do as the church at the center of the city. Would you consider the following two “Columbus Missionary” commitments:

    • faithfully attend Columbus@Worship at either 8am or 10:30am
    • identify 5 people not currently attending Columbus Avenue for whom you can pray and invite to join you
  •  Please don’t take this lightly! I’m not asking which worship service you prefer. I’m asking you to seek God’s direction about how you can be most effective for His Kingdom! We have an opportunity to reach people for Jesus in profound and powerful new ways with an earlier time and a combined music format at 10:30am.

  •  But here’s what is most important for all of us to remember: Worship services don’t reach people for Jesus. People reach people for Jesus. Only as we each pray for and invite the people God brings into our lives to see Jesus will we see God transform lives…including our own.

Our Church and Worship Services

  • Pray that we will be open to God speaking to our hearts through His Word and the time of Praise and Worship. Pray that we will learn and grow in our worship experience.

  • Pray that we will earnestly seek to be obedient to God’s Will and to be used of Him to reach our city, our state, nation and the world!

  • Please pray for people to be drawn closer to God as a result of their worship encounter with Him.

“Sing to Yahweh, you His faithful ones, and praise His holy name…I can sing to You and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise You forever.” Psalm 30:4, 12 HCSB

Michael Slaughter, Associate Pastor of Music and Worship

  • Please pray this verse for Michael: I will sing about the LORD’s faithful love forever; I will proclaim Your faithfulness to all generations with my mouth." Psalm 89:1 HCSB
  • Please continue to pray for Michael and his family as they transition their lives to Waco and CABC. He has faced many challenges and changes since joining our staff. Pray that preparing for two different Sunday morning services will go smoothly and that God will be “high and lifted up” in each one.

“Come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD our Maker. For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, the sheep under His care.” Psalm 95:6-7 HCSB

Les Marshall, Director of Media & Technology

  • Please pray for Les and the Media team as they get ready for the changes in preparing each Sunday’s TV broadcast now that the service will begin at 10:30 but will be broadcast at 11. Pray that all of the equipment will work properly and that each person will be in place to see that all runs smoothly and that nothing interferes with God’s message going forth to Central Texas.

TV Ministry

  • Please continue to pray for those watching the service on television that they will be blessed and feel a part of our church family. Praise for those who have responded to the church's prayerline which is active during the broadcast.
  • Pray that we we may be able to reach out in some way to this tv audience.

“… my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11

  • Please pray this verse for David: I will sing about the LORD’s faithful love forever; I will proclaim Your faithfulness to all generations with my mouth." Psalm 89:1 HCSB
