THURSDAY Prayer Guide

“Devote yourselves to prayer; stay alert in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us that God may open a door to us for the message, to speak the mystery of the Messiah….” Colossians 4:2-3 HCSB

Justin Smith, Minister to College Students

  • Please pray this  verse for Justin: “I keep the LORD in mind always. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken." Psalm 16:8 HCSB
  • The College Ministry has much for which to be thankful! We have seen growth in every area of our ministry. Through Community Groups our students leaders and adult host homes have been able to invest in their peers and their walk with Jesus. We have seen new faces at everything we do. I am excited to see what God continues to do through college students at Columbus Avenue.
  • Pray for our current leaders and host homes and that God would raise up more so that we can faithfully disciple the growing number of college students we are reaching.
  • Pray that God will do something through our college ministry that only He can do.

Neighbors International Program

  • Praise for the biggest beginning ever! We have 137 students by the second class day and 34 children. We’ve had to add a room for the children. We’re averaging 200 already counting workers.
  • Also, praise for ten new workers. They are really filling a need as many have had to drop out at the last minute this year. Some workers are having health problems and family illness, so our subs have been a lifesaver.
  • Pray for students to feel welcome and to be open to the gospel. Many come from counrtries where God is a foreign concept.

“Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and incomprehensible things you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3 HCSB

Prayer with the Pastor

  • Join Pastor Josh and others as we gather together at Noon in the Fireside Room at the Center on the third Thursday of the month to pray for our church, our city and our nation. Pray for more to learn about & participate in this special time!
  • Come for the whole hour or even part of the time to be an intercessor!
  • Let’s be in prayer for God to begin preparing our church and each of us as individuals for revival!
  • In Isaiah 56:7b, God promises to “give them joy in my house of prayer.” Let’s make CABC a house of prayer!

Senior Adult Committee

  •  Please pray for this hard working committee and their new chairman, Harry Lampert. They need energy, persistence, creativity, insight and wisdom in providing events, inspiration and activities for our seniors at Columbus.

  •  Our active senior participation is waning, due to aging, death, health, caregiving duties, and lack of younger seniors to participate. Pray for this situation that more will participate and provide leadership and energy for a vibrant, close-knit and caring senior adult community at Columbus.
