THURSDAY Prayer Guide

“Now I urge you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree in what you say, that there be no divisions among you, and that you be united with the same understanding and the same conviction.” 1 Corinthians 1:10 HCSB

Justin Smith, Minister to College Students

  • Please pray this verse for Justin: “A man’s steps are established by the LORD, and He takes pleasure in his way. Though he falls, he will not be overwhelmed, because the LORD holds his hand.” Psalm 37:23-24 HCSB
  • As we start to find a regular rhythm for the Fall Semester pray that God begins to bring college students closer to him and to each other. On Oct 26-27 we will have our Fall Retreat at which almost 100 college students will camp together and worship our Creator. Pray that God would transform us on this retreat.

Neighbors International Program

  • International Neighbors came roaring out of the gate! It's wonderful to have so many new students (over 50). We are averaging 38 children and need volunteer or paid child care workers for 8:30 to 11:40 each Thursday (except for school holidays). Stay-at-home moms can bring their little ones if they volunteer. We also need another beginning English teacher. Pray that our childcare area will get more help so moms and dads will trust us with their children while they're in class.
  • Thank God for bringing so many opportunities to share Christ and help people assimilate to American life. Praise for how God has provided workers as needs arise!

“He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.” Colossians 1:28 NIV

Prayer with the Pastor

  • Join Pastor Josh and others as we gather together at Noon in the Chapel on the third Thursday of the month to pray for our church, our city, our neighbors and our nation.
  • Come for the whole hour or even part of the time to be an intercessor!
  • Let’s be in prayer for God to begin preparing our church and each of us as individuals for revival!
  • In Isaiah 56:7b, God promises to “give them joy in my house of prayer.” Let’s make CABC a house of prayer!

Senior Adult Committee, Harry Lampert, Chairman

  •  We are so thankful for the attendance we had for the September 18 Potluck Dinner/Minnie Pearl Program. We had 70 attend (several first timers) an evening of great fellowship, good food and laughter.

  •  We ask that you pray for the Game Night (Tuesday, 10/9) and the Schulenburg Painted Churches Tour (Friday, 10/26) that each of these events will provide great Christian fellowship and that the travel to/from Schulenburg will be safe and enjoyable.

  •  Prayers are requested for: Paula Hayward as she continues to battle major health issues; Dr. Dale Allen, as he continues the long road to recovery from serious burns to his back and head and smoke inhalation; and Rush Hathi, Harry Lampert’s brother-in-law, as he recovers from cancer (larynx) surgery.
